Gainesville, FL: Tim Tebow Statue to Be Unveiled at The Swamp

A legendary chapter in Florida Gators football is set to be immortalized as a statue of Tim Tebow will be unveiled at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium—affectionately known as “The Swamp”—on the 30th of this month. The iconic quarterback, who led the Gators to two national championships and became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy, will be honored with a life-sized bronze statue commemorating his legacy on and off the field.

The unveiling ceremony will draw Gators fans, former teammates, and university officials in a celebration of Tebow’s impact on Florida football and college sports at large. The statue will join those of other Gators greats, showcasing Tebow in his signature kneeling pose—symbolic of his faith and leadership.

University President Ben Sasse and Athletic Director Scott Stricklin will speak at the event, highlighting Tebow’s contributions to the university, athletics, and philanthropy. “This isn’t just a statue—it’s a tribute to character, perseverance, and excellence,” said Stricklin.

Tebow, now a philanthropist, author, and broadcaster, expressed deep gratitude, calling the honor “surreal and humbling.” The event is free and open to the public, expected to be a memorable day for all Gator Nation.
