Netflix has officially announced the release of a new sports documentary titled The Heart of the Raiders: A Journey Through Team and Band, chronicling the Texas Tech Red Raiders’ electrifying 2024 championship-winning season. The streaming giant struck a deal with the university and production partners to deliver an intimate look into the journey of the football team and the iconic Goin’ Band from Raiderland.
The film dives into behind-the-scenes moments, including training camp, locker room footage, in-game highlights, and the musical pulse provided by the band that fueled the team’s undefeated season.
Director Ava Molina, known for her work on emotionally charged sports documentaries, promises viewers a mix of grit, heart, and school spirit. “It’s not just about the wins—it’s about community, perseverance, and the culture that surrounds Red Raider football,” she said.
Set to premiere May 20, the documentary features exclusive interviews with head coach Marcus Tillman, quarterback Jalen Rhodes, band director Dr. Emily Vance, and fan-favorite drum major Elijah Burns.
