Richardson, a former University of Florida standout and No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, showed flashes of brilliance in his rookie year before a season-ending shoulder injury halted his momentum. Despite limited snaps, the young quarterback’s dual-threat capability and leadership potential impressed both coaches and fans.
Backing up Richardson are veteran Gardner Minshew and third-stringer Sam Ehlinger—players with starting experience but inconsistent results. CBS pointed to the overall lack of proven elite performance across the room as justification for the low ranking.
