10-15 drops of essential oil (such as lavender, eucalyptus, or peppermint)
1 tablespoon of dish soap
A few slices of lemon or lime
A spray bottle
Instructions:
Combine the Ingredients:
In a bowl, mix 1 cup of white vinegar with 1/2 cup of water.
Add 10-15 drops of your chosen essential oil to the mixture. Lavender, eucalyptus, or peppermint work well as natural insect repellents.
Stir in 1 tablespoon of dish soap. This helps the mixture stick to surfaces and enhances its effectiveness against bugs.
For an extra fresh scent and added repellent properties, add a few slices of lemon or lime to the mixture.
Transfer to Spray Bottle:
Pour the mixture into a spray bottle using a funnel if needed.
Application:
Shake the bottle well before each use.
Spray the mixture around your kitchen, particularly near windows, doors, and other entry points where bugs might enter.
You can also spray it directly on surfaces where you’ve noticed flies, mosquitoes, or other bugs.
Repeat as Needed:
Reapply the mixture every few days or whenever you notice bugs returning. The mixture is safe to use around food-preparation areas but avoid spraying directly on food.
Tips:
The essential oil not only helps repel bugs but also adds a pleasant fragrance to your kitchen.
Make sure to clean up any food spills or crumbs that could attract bugs, and keep your kitchen tidy to prevent infestations.
