Forever a Gator: Rex Grossman Donates $10 Million to Florida Athletics for Stadium Renovation

Former University of Florida quarterback and NFL veteran Rex Grossman has made a monumental contribution to his alma mater, donating $10 million to the University of Florida Athletics. The generous gift will go toward the renovation and modernization of Florida’s football facilities, reaffirming Grossman’s enduring legacy as a proud Gator.

Grossman, who led the Florida Gators to a national title game appearance and was a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2001, has long credited the university with shaping both his athletic and personal life. His donation marks one of the largest ever by a former Gator football player and is expected to significantly enhance the infrastructure supporting current and future student-athletes.

“I wouldn’t be where I am today without the University of Florida,” Grossman said in a statement. “This program gave me everything, and I’m honored to give back in a way that will help the next generation of Gators succeed.”

The funds will be used primarily for the ongoing upgrades to Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, including player facilities, locker rooms, training areas, and fan experiences. The university also announced that a part of the renovated complex may be named in Grossman’s honor.
