Ingredients:
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for added moisture)
- 1 tablespoon plain yogurt (optional, for soothing effect)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Onion:
- Peel and chop the onion into small pieces.
- Use a blender or food processor to puree the onion until you get a smooth mixture.
- Extract the Juice:
- Place the onion puree into a cheesecloth or a clean cloth.
- Squeeze the cloth to extract the juice into a small bowl.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- If desired, mix 1 tablespoon of honey and/or 1 tablespoon of plain yogurt into the onion juice. Honey adds moisturizing properties, while yogurt soothes the skin.
- Apply the Juice:
- Clean your face thoroughly and pat it dry.
- Using a cotton ball or pad, gently apply the onion juice mixture to your face, focusing on areas with wrinkles.
- Leave On:
- Allow the mixture to sit on your face for about 10-15 minutes. You may feel a slight tingling sensation; this is normal.
- Rinse Off:
- Rinse your face with lukewarm water and gently pat dry with a clean towel.
- Moisturize:
- Follow up with a gentle moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated.
Tips:
- Use this treatment 1-2 times a week for best results.
- Perform a patch test on a small area of your skin before applying the onion juice to your face to ensure you don’t have an allergic reaction.
Caution:
- Onion juice can be potent and may cause irritation for some people. If you experience severe redness or discomfort, discontinue use.
Onions are rich in antioxidants and sulfur compounds, which are believed to help with skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. However, results can vary from person to person.
